The time that we’ve waited so long almost come… ACM-ICPC! πŸ˜€

This will be my first participation in ICPC since last year my team fail to achieve the top three position in NTU, and hence fail to represent NTU in any regional site. How do I feel now? I feel extremely excited! :D. We have worked pretty hard in order to have a good performance in the contest. So far we have done quite a lot of regular practices for about three consecutive months and did a lot of contests. I really hope what we have done will not be meaningless πŸ˜€

Ah yeah, let me introduce our team. Our team’s name is NTU GladiaToRs. NTU gladiators? No, it is NTU GladiaToRs (case-sensitive lol ). The uppercase letters come from our team member’s name. Giang, Trung, and Risan. Usually, we did a contest with nickname either “Spectrum”, “NTU”, “NTU GladiaToRs”, “ThΓ nh Trung Nguyα»…n”, or any of our team member’s name (see below). Before, I suggested “Spectrum” as our team name. However, after thinking a while, I felt it was not appropriate since Spectrum consist of 7 colors which could be interpreted as the colors of the balloons we could obtain. No, we want to get more than that :D. Btw, it’s only my funny way to interpret the name πŸ˜† πŸ˜† Don’t take it seriously πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

Now, let me give a short introduction of our team members. The first one is Do Hoang Giang, who was part of NTU-Rookies last year, the second one is Nguyen Thanh Trung, one of the freshie in our Computer Science department, and the last one is me, Risan. Last year I was part of Deadline :D.

I really have a great time in this team. All team members have a determination in practice, all team members trust each other in the competition, and all team members want to win :D. Furthermore, all of us have different background in approaching a problem. It is really interesting to know how Trung or Giang touching a problem from a really different point of view than mine. I feel really blessed to have this team as part of my university life πŸ™‚

Before my closing sentence, I want to thanks God, my parents, my two sisters, and all my awesome coaches that have trained me until now. Specially, for those awesome coaches, I will devote a special post after this (actually, I want to include it here but after a while, I realized that it’s too long πŸ™‚ ).

And now, the battle will begin soon. Next Wednesday we will go to Hanoi for representing NTU in Hanoi Site and next week we will compete in Jakarta Site.

Please pray for us, we’ll do our best! πŸ˜€
